Feeling full of heart, even if bodies are tired, after our Garden Festival yesterday π
Days like this remind me exactly why this space exists — connection, belonging, learning, and growing together. It was such a joy to see so many people sharing in that.
So much love and gratitude to every single person who showed up, pitched in, ran activities, shared knowledge, donated goodies, captured moments, helped set up and pack down, and brought such warmth and energy to the day. It truly takes a village, and ours is something really special.
Still smiling thinking about all the conversations, the laughter, the kids getting their hands in the soil, and the simple magic of being together in the garden π±
Feeling very lucky. And very grateful.
Next up: back to the soil πͺπ« More warm season crops to clear, and cool season crops to get in the ground. See you in the garden soon!
We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to join our joyful weekly Playgroup in the Garden, every Thursday morning at Fawkner Food Bowls.
This is a vibrant, nature-filled playgroup where little ones and their carers come to explore, create, and connect. Think watering plants, harvesting and tasting fresh veggies, planting seedlings, digging in the soil, bug hunting, sensory play, and making art with natural materials.
As a volunteer, you’ll help bring the magic to life—setting up and packing down, running fun nature-based activities, welcoming families, and supporting kids to get hands-on in the garden.
Perfect for anyone interested in early childhood education, therapeutic horticulture, art therapy, community development or simply spending time with children in nature.
If you love kids, fresh air, and a bit of garden magic, we’d love to have you on board.
Contact fawnkerfoodbowls@gmail.com if you’re interested!
